Postpartum Hair in Pakistan — Accessories for Shedding and Regrowth

by Bee's Creations on Aug 23, 2026

Somewhere between three and six months after giving birth, a lot of women in Pakistan notice hair coming out in handfuls. It is frightening the first time, and almost nobody warns you about it beforehand.

It is extremely common, it is temporary, and while it runs its course there are practical things you can do to make your hair feel manageable again.

What is actually happening

During pregnancy, hair that would normally have shed stays put. After birth, hormone levels shift and all of that retained hair sheds at once. It is a catch-up, not new loss — which is why it looks so dramatic and why it settles.

Most women see it start around three months postpartum and improve substantially by nine to twelve months. If it is still worsening past a year, or you notice bald patches rather than general thinning, please speak to a doctor — that is a different picture and worth checking.

The two problems accessories can actually solve

1. Fine regrowth that will not stay flat

As hair regrows, you get a halo of short baby hairs around the hairline that stick straight up and refuse to join a ponytail. This is a good sign — it means regrowth is happening — but it is annoying.

What works: small clips holding the front sections back rather than trying to smooth the regrowth into the main style. Two Mini Daisy Claws (Rs. 195) or a Mini Flower Claw Clip (Rs. 275) at the temples. A soft headband also covers the whole hairline in one move — see our headband guide.

2. Reduced density, so nothing holds like it used to

Your usual clip was sized for your pre-pregnancy volume. It will slide now. Size down — this is temporary and you will size back up.

A medium claw like the Marble Daisy Claw (Rs. 385) is usually right during this phase, rather than an XL.

Reduce anything that adds mechanical stress

You cannot stop hormonal shedding, but you can avoid adding breakage on top of it:

  • No tight ponytails. Tension on an already-shedding scalp is the worst combination. Loose everything.
  • Bin the rubber bands. Switch to wide, soft ties — XL Silk Scrunchies (Rs. 245) or a Plush Hair Tie (Rs. 265).
  • Detangle from the ends up, with fingers or a wide-tooth comb, never from the roots down.
  • Do not re-style repeatedly through the day. Every take-down and put-up sheds more.
  • Sleep in a loose low bun, secured with a claw rather than an elastic.

The realistic new-mother styling reality

You have roughly ninety seconds and one free hand. What actually works:

  • Claw clip up-do — one hand, three seconds, keeps hair completely out of reach of small grabbing fingers
  • Low bun with a pin — no elastic, no headache, holds through a nap-time
  • Headband — covers unwashed roots and regrowth simultaneously

The claw clip is the postpartum hero, genuinely. It is the fastest style there is and babies cannot pull it out the way they pull a loose ponytail.

Frequently asked questions

Is postpartum hair fall normal?

Yes, very. It typically starts around three months after birth and settles by around a year. Persistent or patchy loss is worth discussing with a doctor.

Will my hair grow back the same?

For most women, largely yes, though texture can change. The short regrowth around your hairline is the evidence it is happening.

Should I stop tying my hair up completely?

No — just stop tying it tightly. Loose claw-clipped styles put almost no stress on the scalp.

Do hair accessories make postpartum shedding worse?

Tight ones can add breakage. Loose claws and wide soft ties do not.

Do you deliver with cash on delivery?

Yes, nationwide across Pakistan, free shipping over Rs. 4,500.
