Monsoon Self-Care in Pakistan — Frizz, Breakouts and Humidity Fixes
by Bee's Creations on Jul 31, 2026
Monsoon humidity does two opposite things at once: it makes your hair swell and frizz, and it makes your skin produce more oil while still being dehydrated underneath. This is why the routine that worked in May stops working in August.
Here is what actually changes between July and September in Pakistan, and the small adjustments worth making.
What humidity does to hair
Hair is porous. In high humidity it absorbs moisture from the air, the strands swell, and the cuticle lifts — which is frizz. This is physics, not a product failure, which is why expensive serums often disappoint during monsoon.
You cannot stop it entirely. You can reduce it.
What helps
- Stop over-washing. The instinct in humid weather is to wash more because hair feels limp. This strips oils, and stripped hair absorbs more atmospheric moisture, which means more frizz. Two to three times a week is usually right.
- Tie it up instead of fighting it. The most effective monsoon strategy is accepting that loose hair will frizz and wearing it up. A Luna Claw (Rs. 445) or Cloudy Claw (Rs. 425) holds a bun through humid days better than a tie, which slips as hair swells.
- Avoid tight elastics on damp hair. Damp hair is at its weakest. Tying it tightly is when breakage happens. A silk scrunchie (Rs. 245) grips without cutting in.
- Skip heat styling. Straightening in monsoon is a losing battle — hair reverts within an hour and you have added heat damage for nothing.

The scalp problem nobody mentions
Humidity plus sweat plus infrequent washing is how monsoon scalp irritation and flaking start. If your scalp is itchy in August, the answer is usually washing the scalp more carefully — not the lengths more often.
What humidity does to skin
Two things happen simultaneously and they get confused.
Your skin produces more oil. Heat increases sebum production. This is why skin feels greasy by noon in August in a way it does not in January.
Your skin is still dehydrated. Sweating loses water. Oily and dehydrated at the same time is the standard monsoon state, and treating it purely as oily — by stripping it — makes the oil worse.
The adjustments that work
- Switch to a lighter moisturiser, do not drop it. Gel rather than cream. Skipping moisturiser entirely is the most common monsoon mistake.
- Add a cold step. Cold constricts pores temporarily and calms the flushing that heat causes. Three rounds of ten to fifteen seconds in a BeeGlow Ice Facial Bowl (Rs. 2,249) after your evening cleanse is the most useful single addition for humid months. - Cleanse in the evening properly. A day of sweat, sunscreen and dust needs a real cleanse. Use a skincare headband (Rs. 945) and wristbands (Rs. 545) so you are not fighting damp hair and wet sleeves.
- Do not over-exfoliate. Once a week. Humid-weather skin is already irritated.
- Keep sunscreen on. Overcast monsoon days still carry significant UV. This is the step people drop first and should not.
Monsoon breakouts — why they happen
Three causes, in order of how common they are:
- Sweat sitting on skin. Rinse your face after coming in from outside, even if you do not do a full cleanse.
- Heavier product buildup. A cream that suited winter clogs in August.
- Hair products on the skin. Oiled hair falling on your forehead and cheeks in humid weather is a genuine cause of forehead breakouts. This is another argument for wearing it up.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my hair frizz more in monsoon?
Hair absorbs moisture from humid air, the strands swell and the cuticle lifts. It is a physical response to humidity, not a sign your products have stopped working.
Should I stop using moisturiser in humid weather?
No. Switch to a lighter gel formula. Skipping moisturiser leaves skin dehydrated, which triggers more oil production, not less.
How often should I wash my hair during monsoon?
Two to three times a week for most hair types, with attention to cleaning the scalp properly rather than just the lengths.
Do ice facials help with monsoon oiliness?
They help temporarily tighten the appearance of pores and calm heat-related redness. They do not permanently reduce oil production, and any guide claiming otherwise is overselling.
Is cash on delivery available?
Yes — everything ships across Pakistan with cash on delivery.
Change three things, not everything
Lighter moisturiser, hair worn up, and a cold step in the evening. That covers most of what monsoon throws at you.
